Sicily – Family Yoga, Surfing and Kite Yoga Retreat at Floripa Yoga House.
Set in the idyllic island of Sicily, if like me you always wanted to come on a Yoga retreat but didn’t want to leave your family behind, you can come and enjoy a Weeklong Family Yoga retreat to explore the benefits of yoga as a family in a safe and nurturing environment, strengthening family bonds through this holistic practice, and soaking up all Sicily has to offer.
You will enjoy Family Yoga twice a day and all that Floripa has to offer with water sports, delicious food and sunset walks as well as day trips to explore the Island.
Yoga
The Daily practice will include 2, 1hr Family sessions one in the morning before brunch and one in the evening before dinner. We will delve into Fun Breathing Practices, Asanas and creative games to explore mindfulness and relaxation. Floripa counts with 2 spacious Shalas and mats and equipment will be provided.
Foods and Nourishments
From 2022 the new 5 stars Chef Francesco will be cooking sumptuous food, using organic and local produce. Mostly vegetarian food will be available but also fish can be offered on request. Our meals are fresh cooked everyday by Chef Francesco, who has years of experience in stellar restaurants. He really loves tradition and respect all the local products. We serve delicious vegetarian Buffett (I think also kids would like them as they’re absolutely not “boring veggies”!). Please let us know in advance if you or anyone in your group have food intolerances. On the Saturday we will have a BBQ with meat (and vegetarian options too). If you have any special request, please let us know in advance. You also have access to cooking facilities in some rooms.
Travel
The Nearest Airports are Catania (CTA) and Comiso. We recommend a flight to CTA approx £120 from London. From Comiso Airport you can Book a pick up service through us (€ 65 for a standard car, € 75 for 2 to 3 persons, extra fee of € 20 applied between 11 pm and 7 am). From Catania, you can take a bus to Pozzallo. We can arrange pick-up for you at the bus station for only €10,00 (or €15 from 11pm to 7 am). Book a pick up service through us (€ 80 for a standard car, € 90 for 2 to 3 persons, extra fee of € 20 applied between 11 pm and 7 am).
Beach and Water Sports
Floripa includes your umbrella at the beach, that is located in front of the Guest House and you can easily reach it by walking on the seaside. From 9am to 7pm you will find there one of the Team ready to assist you. You can book SUP yoga classes and water sports such us kite, wind and wave surfing during the stay. Equipment rental, beginner classes, intermediate as well as Master classes are available at our side on shore Spot! Friendly instructors are certified by Iko and speak more languages. The spot is great even just for relaxing, to enjoy the sun or just to have a cocktail with the family!
Wellness
Starting from 45 euros you can reserve at the main House many treatments, including head massage, face massage, full body, with 4 different certified therapists. Osteopathic Treatment with Lorenzo Full Body relaxing massage with Giada Deep tissue, Swedish, Sport, Lipolytic with Jenny Reflexology with Giulio Why not enjoy the end of the day by watching the stars from our openair Jacuzzi? Oh yes! There is a Jacuzzi which you can reserve anytime during the day.. and the night! The perfect way to end your day or to spend an autumn afternoon!
Pets
In Floripa we have two lovely dogs: Manera and Coco. And plenty of cats, some of them are Zombie (she’s blind), Cip, Gioia, Parvati, Jacob, Zorro, Shakti, Batman … and more! They are very friendly and excited to meet new people. Our furry friends are the real gem of our beloved place <3.

Important Information
October’s weather is 20-25c High & 9-16c Low. Would recommend having cardigans for early mornings and evenings. This weather will make it perfect for exploring the city during the day.
Bring beach/swimming shoes just to manage the pebbles getting in and out of the sea. There are no sea urchins, just pebbles.
There are minimal bugs that bite, however if you know the like you, bring bug spray.
Arrivals & Departure
Day of arrival the retreat is open after 14:00 and snacks and refreshment will be available.
Day of departure all rooms have to be vacated by 11:00, after breakfast.
Retreats run from Monday – Sunday (with exceptions).
Surf House
The Surf House has 6 rooms with private bathrooms, a common living room, a kitchen for guests on the second floor, and a barbecue. It is surrounded by a porch and a large garden, where you can fall asleep on comfortable hammocks rocked by the sea breeze, relax while reading some of the spiritual books you can borrow from us, or watch the stars at night. All our rooms have been decorated for your comfort and relaxation with simplicity and colour in a modern style.
They take their names from different surf spots around the world where Ettore has surfed. With hot-cold air conditioners, television, refrigerator, private bathroom, wi-fi.
Keramas Room
Double Room
This medium-size room is furnished with a double bed (it can be separated into 2 singles in case of a small family) and is equipped with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, WIFI internet and a private bathroom. Because of its size, we think this room is perfect for a Parent and a child or a couple of persons. If you would like to have more space, check out the spacious double rooms in the Kite House. It’s situated on the second floor, south east side, with a window overlooking the garden.

This is the largest room of our Surf House, and it is ideal for a family of 5. It is equipped with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, WIFI internet, and a private bathroom. There is an extra bathroom on the first floor, and an outside hot shower that you can use if the bathroom is busy. It faces North East, on the second floor with a window overlooking Ispica and a garden view.

It’s located on the ground floor, with direct access to the garden and some hammocks outside of the room. It’s oriented northeast.

Kite House
The Kite House is made up of 4 rooms with a private bathroom, and a barbecue. Each room has a small porch where they are reading chairs and hammocks. This house is surrounded by a large garden with many beautiful plants.
Kite House consists of 3 colourful houses located in a quiet area less than 50 metres from the beach of Santa Maria del Focallo (RG).
La Maresias Suite
Double Room
This very romantic medium-size room is furnished with a double bed (or two singles), and is equipped with air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, WIFI internet and a private bathroom. It has the biggest veranda of all our rooms, so it’s a good idea to book it if you need extra space, for example to store your kite equipment. The veranda is furnished with a coffee table and sofa chairs, and a hammock. It faces North.
